Another missing soldier has been reported missing from Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) in Washington State. The base officially put out a bolo on social media stating the following: “MISSING SOLDIER: Civilian and military authorities are searching for a missing JBLM Soldier who failed to report to duty earlier this week. Sergeant Aaron Haakenson, assigned to 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, was last heard from Aug. 1 at about 10 p.m.The 33-year-old did not report for his unit’s formation Aug. 2 and has not responded to attempts to reach him.

Haakenson is a 5-foot-9-inch tall, 223-pound Caucasian with blue eyes and light, brown hair; his home of record is Sapulpa, Oklahoma.Anyone with credible information to help locate Haakenson should immediately call the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division on JBLM at 253-405-3919.”

JBLM missing soldier 1st Lt Brian Yang found dead at Mount Saint Helens

Haakenson’s disappearance comes just a few weeks after 1st Lt Brian Yang went missing from JBLM after going for a hike at Mount St. Helen. Unfortunately Mr. Yang was found dead, and did not survive a fall he sustained while training for a marathon race. Upon Yang going missing, the Raptor Brigade and Special Forces units were sent out immediately for a search and rescue mission to find him in partnership with the Cowlitz Sheriff’s office.

Word of both Haakenson’s and Yang’s disappearances have continued to make the rounds of social media.
