How do you fix a broken pumpkin? With a pumpkin patch! Pumpkin season is in full swing and there are plenty of places to choose from for fall activities, corn mazes, and more. All of these pumpkin patches are both children and family friendly. You can turn an adventure to the pumpkin patch into a a date day, family day, girls night out, anything really!

Here are a four farms near Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) and Camp Murray in Tacoma, WA. She also suggests, “Make sure to check the weather before you go, bring jackets and make sure to bring a mask (just incase they are required).”


Schilter Family Farm

Schilter Family Farm is now open daily for their Fall Harvest Festival. If you would like to visit the shop or pumpkin patch, admission is not required. If you would like to participate in activities such as the corn maze, hay ride, playground, or jump pillow then you will need an admission ticket. Tickets range from $7-12 per person depending on the day you choose to visit. Ages two and under are free. Private fire pits inside the corn maze are also available to book for $50/hour. Your family can roast smores and enjoy the fire on a cool evening. Food options and an adult beer garden are available during your visit. Maris Farms

Dog Friendly

Maris Farms is one of the largest in the area and is open select dates through the end of October. Timed tickets are required to be purchased online and are not being offered at the gate this year. Tickets range from $21-24 per person for entry. Ages two and under are free. Dogs are welcome and they are absolutely dog friendly. Maris Farms offers some exciting activities like pig racing, duck races, fishing, apple cannons, mechanical bull riding as well as traditional activities like the corn maze, hay ride, and pumpkin patch. There are plenty of food options available to purchase during your visit. Maris Farms also offers a spooky night even called “Haunted Woods” on select dates. Spooner Farms

Spooner Farms is open daily for their annual Harvest Festival from 9am – 6pm. Spooner Farms is a great option because it is FREE admission. Activities like the playground, pedal carts, farm animals, and duck races are included. If you’d like to do the corn maze or pumpkin slingshot, those activities do have a cost. The corn maze admission is $7-9 per person. Spooner farms has an extensive selection of pumpkins and gourds available for purchase. There is a snack stand and a gift shop. Lattin’s Cider Mill

If you are looking for something a bit different than your typical Pumpkin Patch, check out Lattin’s Cider Mill. They offer an Apple Festival each year at their farm stand. The farm stand is open year round offering fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, and locally produced dry goods. Lattin’s is most known for their apple cider donuts and fresh apple cider. Parking and admission is FREE. There are quite a few farm animals that the kids can see and feed including turkeys, chickens, goats, sheep and ducks.
