Spring is here and it’s almost time for the Spring fair! The Spring Fair is a smaller version of the annual Washington State Fair that takes place in September each year. The Spring Fair will be taking place April 14-16 & 21-24, 2022 and will be closed on Easter Sunday (April 17th).  The fair is a fantastic day trip from Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM).

Admission tickets into the Spring Fair ranges from $10-14 per person with ages 5 and under being FREE. On opening day (4/14) everyone can receive FREE admission between 2-4pm. Kids are FREE admission every Thursday (4/14 & 4/21) from 2-10pm. Military members can receive FREE admission on Military Appreciation Day (4/15) all day. You can purchase exclusive ride and entry bundles online to save even more.

There will be lots of different entertainment for the entire family this year. Three full days of mayhem include the Slamfest Demolition Derby (4/23 & 4/24) and Monster Truck Show (4/22). These two events require separate tickets but can be purchased online and include general admission in the price. FREE entertainment that is included with your admission ticket are a Jungle Critters show, Lumberjack show, Dockdogs Competition, and various performers on the Coca Cola Stage.

Fun activities and sights that you can always find at the fair include the Farm at Sillyville, Racing pigs, livestock barns, and more. The racing pigs are one of my favorites! There is also a petting zoo for kids to touch farm animals. New this year is a Selfie Experience with interactive selfie exhibits and art exhibitions.

The best part of the fair in my opinion is NOT the rides, it is the food! Here is my list of can’t miss fair food:

Cow Chip Cookie

Fisher Scone

Earthquakes Burger & Curly Fries

Pete’s BBQ

Dole Whip Ice Cream

Speaking of rides, they are of course, a ton of fun. My suggestion is to wait until AFTER you ride the rides to eat all of the food I mentioned above. Rides do require tickets and the best deal is to buy a bundle online before you go. View and purchase ride deals HERE.
